In our Lobby Lounge, indulge in a Chinese-inspired High Tea, a luxurious way to greet coming months filled with promise. Executive Pastry Chef Anna Polyviou’s boundary-pushing sweet creations, based around sesame seed, lychee and mandarin will delight, as will egg custard tarts and mango rice puddings.

All guests will be bestowed with a lucky Red Pocket, and can choose to take home other festive souvenirs from their Shangri-La experience.

Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea will take place in the Lobby Lounge from 21 January –13 February 2020, with the choice of three seatings: 11.30am – 1.30pm, 1.45pm – 3.45pm, 4pm – 6pm.

Executive Pastry Chef Anna Polyviou has created a show-stopping range of special-occasion cakes, available exclusively at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney.

 Polyviou is not afraid of taking delicious risks with her sweet art, and cake lovers will be dazzled by the daringly delicious creations, designed in the Punk Princess of Pastry’s distinctive style. 

 Cake devotees will covet the sublime selection of sweet art on offer, including her rich and decadent Popping Caramel, fruity Mango Tango, luscious Berry Cheesecake and indulgent Apple Crumble.

As the piece de resistance, Polyviou’s outrageous “Tower of Terror” cake is sure to set cake lovers hearts’ aflutter.

Traditional High Tea

Treat yourself to a sumptuous traditional High Tea in the tranquil surroundings of the Lobby Lounge & Terrace. Executive pastry chef Anna Polyviou has created three tiers of bold, colourful and distinctive sweet treats, savoury creations and fluffy scones, accompanied by clotted crème and mixed berry jam, all lovingly made in our pastry kitchen. Available from 11.30am - 6pm. 

The afternoon tea is priced at $55 per person with a flute of Chandon NV Brut and $65 per person with a flute of Veuve Clicquot, Brut Yellow Label French Champagne.
