At the heart of the hotel, a spectacular gourmet buffet awaits; make merry and be spoilt for choice at Café Mix.

 This year’s buffet will feature poached tiger prawns, white wine-poached Kinkawooka mussels, freshly shucked Pacific and Sydney rock oysters, delicate Spencer Gulf swimmer crab, Queensland Spanner crab and champagne lobster are to be savoured amid an extravagant seafood spread. Taking centre-stage on Christmas Day is a cognac-scented shrimp bisque, while on Christmas Eve, a lavish list of favourites - including succulent slow-cooked lamb stew, baked coral trout, and beetroot ravioli with truffle cream – will delight alongside cured meats, rich salads, Asian delicacies, and artisan cheeses.

 Festive Seafood Buffet is available every Friday and Saturday from 6:00pm – 09:30pm 29 November -05 January at Café Mix. Price at $90 per adult and $45 per child.

Awaken the New Year with laughter and jollity at Café Mix. Indulge in a magnificent gourmet buffet amid the shimmer of Champagne.

 Before the clock strikes twelve, wind along a line of lavish stations, including the freshest seafood from the very best suppliers – freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters, Balmain bugs, poached tiger prawns, and white wine-poached diamond clams, alongside hearty roasted whole Byron Bay pork, and red wine-braised beef lasagne.

 Delight in Asian delicacies, artisan cheeses, rich salads, and sashimi, then conclude with the sweetest confections: among these, salted caramel tarts, white chocolate cheesecake, and melt-in-your-mouth macarons by Executive Pastry Chef Anna Polyviou.

 A New Year’s Eve Celebration would not be complete without exceptional views across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. After the feast, diners will ascend to a reserved vantage point on Level 3 to watch either the family fireworks display (early seating) or midnight fireworks display (late seating).

Lunar New Year at Cafe Mix

Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney honours the Year of the Rat by fusing ancient customs with modern fun. From the 21st to the 25th January, traditional Chinese live music performances, Lion Dancing, delicious cuisine, and vibrant decoration will delight guests, amid a lavish buffet at Café Mix.

 Discover a feast swathed in red and auspicious ornamentation to invite wealth, fortune and longevity. Choose from festive favourites, including whole suckling pig, dumplings, noodle salads and fresh seafood, and a live Peking duck roll station.

 All guests will be bestowed with a lucky Red Pocket, and can choose to take home other festive souvenirs from their Shangri-La experience.
